The things people came up with. I would never have thought caning can be included in the list of healthy activities like jogging or swimming. But apparently the Singaporeans do (The Star, Tuesday 13 November 2007). And some of them were even willing to pay to be canned!
Okay, I do indulge in.. ehem.. a few butt-slappings now and then during bed-fun, but personally, caning is a bit over the top for me. But I can name a group of people (not by their first names, of course) who’d be very happy with this revelation.

MOST people will flee when they see a cane but not Singaporeans. In fact, they are willing to be caned for health’s sake. China Press said as many as 70 Singaporeans pay an old man RM46 for each caning session daily. The man giving the strange treatment is a 72-year-old Malaysian named Wu Cheng Guang.Wu is reported to have said that he learned the treatment from a Tibetan monk when he was 20 years old. He said the beating would improve blood circulation.

It’s not that we have to go so far afield, but the delight for me is that people all over the world, from every culture, can get into caning!
